A WAVE OF GOOD… Oceanbags.com
Kids & Planet
Hello!
Whether you are a parent or a teacher or a parent who teaches, we welcome you to these lessons.
Our chief goal is to offer an opportunity for life-learning!
Specifically, we hope to help establish a life-long pattern of giving in every child we can reach! You are the conduit for that opportunity.
Our material is divided into units: pre-readers (early childhood), primary (young readers through the 3rd grade) and intermediate (4th-5th). Of course students can utilize the unit most suited for their individual level with no restriction.
All are designed for independent study including the theme-based, original story book which includes an audio reader; however, instructor participation is encouraged where it is available.
Some of the concepts and vocabulary might be slightly challenging, depending upon the child, but our educational philosophy is aimed more at impactful exposure to critical concepts rather than mastery for testing since the only test involved here is the extent to which the child applies the lesson in real time, real life practice.
In this unit, you will find a study for primary readers that introduces the meaning of and need for those who have enough to share with those who don’t.
Some of facts included explain:
What happens inside of us when we do good things for another
What kindness means
How a child can practice kindness
For those they know well
For those they don’t know
Examples of protection and kindness in nature by examining behaviors of mammals, birds, and especially through a short study of trees.
The requisites of a healthy life for a child
How missing those life necessities can look and feel
An introduction to conservation practices
In order to read the books provided in the curriculum you will click on the arrows located on the right and left edge of the the application to move forwards and backwards respectively. There is also an audio option in which Toni reads the story page by page. In order to play these Audio files simply click on the speaker icon located on each page.
Academic application is provided through games, videos made for children, vocabulary list with definitions, and short quizzes all to reinforce understanding.
Included in the digital “package” for each instructor and child there is:
Explanation of who we are, what we’ve done already with pictures
A multi-disciplinary unit of study that includes the rationale, facts and motivation for giving:
To a child in crisis.
To the ocean
To the planet
To grow personal value
C. QR code by which they submit funds raised
D. Basic instructions for what they’re being asked to do.
Our mission through the kids and planet curriculum initiative is to help you establish a life-pattern of giving in your children. Scientific and geographic facts presented here build a foundation for student understanding about contributing on behalf of others. Then, by offering a motivational picture book that models generous behavior as well as animals and tree species who demonstrate giving, the student can embrace both a better understanding of who lives in need and why. This is culminated at the end of the unit in a first practice as children can invest time and energy into helping another child as well as the planet by raising (hopefully earning) $40 which is submitted via QR code to Oceanbags.
This $40.00 will:
*purchase and ship a backpack for a child who cannot afford to buy one.
*thereby stopping plastic pollution from entering the ocean (see below)
*and plant a new tree.
Oceanbags
is a nonprofit that cares intensely about the highest quality of life for all children and the planet.
We sell backpacks and totes to the public. Each bag sold (and given) is made from at least 30 plastic bottles retrieved from fresh waterways before they pollute the ocean.
For every backpack purchased
We give a backpack to a child who cannot afford to buy one.
And we plant a tree with respect to carbon footprint as well as to provide protection in India’s storm ally where human and animal families are threatened annually.

Three more items of note:
Backpacks gifted through this effort are gifted to children defined by our Partners for Good. The backpacks are distributed to kids in crisis based upon the discretion of these valiant warriors who champion them.
Experts in the fields of neurology, conservation and children in crisis are vetting and will continue to vet the curriculum included here. These experts receive no remuneration from Oceanbags Foundation.
We ask that every child who participates in the practice of giving offered here, please include either a picture, a story, or a letter to send to the child receiving the backpack. This should be original work and sent with no expectation of receiving anything back for their effort. We believe that the purest joy of giving comes from 100% offering without return.
This is the answer for making us all the best we can be.
This is love.
