    I can’t stop smiling after reading “Good to Go”. As a former theatre teacher and journalist, I have read and written a number of stories, and do recognize excellent writing. This small book, which is beautifully illustrated, simply, yet, lovingly tells the touching story of an important life moment Gilly-Ann and her blue boots share. It teaches an uplifting lesson in such an entertaining way making it definitely worth reading with children of all ages. Good to Go can be used by educators to teach a valuable life lesson.

    Good to Go is a beautiful book written with a mother’s understanding of a child’s adventurous imagination. She knew that beneath all the drama in this child’s world there was a heartbeat of compassion and for doing good. I know the well-chosen words and beautiful pictures are meant to entice children to read, but, at 92 I found Good to Go speaking to me. My “freckled” time in life is no excuse to limit the lesson Gilly-Ann learned from her tattered boots. Her blue boots and my blue house slippers are “good to go” when we use our steps to go, doing good, and bringing hope and happiness to others.
